Corridor
Synopsis: A female security guard wakes up to find that she is injured and dead bodies are strewn next to her. Struggling to survive, she soon realizes that someone or something is between her and the way out of the Corridor.
Production Notes: This was my very first project as a student filmmaker and the trick was with this project was that it had to be made at the school. The school had two sound stages but the trick was that you had to use what we fancy film types call “Flats”. Basically that’s a hip term to describe crappy set wall. I really didn’t feel like painting so I ended up shooting in a hallway in the building that the school is in. I wanted a stark contrast of light and dark so we blocked off one end of the hallway with a tarp and used one big 1k light.
I was having a tough time trying to think of people to use as two dead bodies, they had no lines, nothing, they were just supposed to be dead from the start to the end of the film. So I get my good buddy and Flying Dork actor/stand in extrodinaire, Billy and also my Dad volunteered. What was really cool was when Billy fell asleep for two hours of filming while playing dead on a cold, hard concrete floor. Despite the fact that with some nine people and one really hot light being in a very narrow hallway it was a really fun, interesting first experience as a student filmmaker. Yeah I know nine people for this film...
